ARABIAN HORSE SHOW
TO DEBUT IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
THIS WEEKEND
Contact: Milos Janu at milos.janu@quick.cz
Tomorrow, Saturday 4, 2010, for the first time in the Czech history, purebred Arabian horses from all over the world will come together for the halter show “Prague Intercup,” organized by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO). This two-day event will include an International Beauty Contest, in which 81 horses will compete. Owners include legendary Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts; Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and Princess Alia al Hussein Al Saleh. The Czech National Championship will be represented by 35 horses. The program includes belly dancing, swordsmen, a falconer and other entertainment. Around 7,000 spectators are expected to attend the event. Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting at 6 Euros. Invited guests include the President of the Czech Republic, Princess Alia, representatives of the Czech government, Arab ambassadors to the Czech Republic and leading representatives of Czech diplomacy infamous for their traditional ties to Arab world.
“Arabian horses are beautiful, smart, gracious and extremely elegant; and they deserve recognition for their looks not only all over the world but also in the Czech Republic,” says Jaroslav Lacina, Chairman of “Prague Intercup,” President of the Arabian Horse Society and an International judge of purebred Arabian horses.
“We are happy and excited to premier this Arabian horse halter show in the Czech Republic. The Czech people will have an incredible opportunity to experience the event, to see these magnificent animals with their own eyes and learn why this particular show is different from all other horse shows. They can even take a picture with an Arabian beauty,” says Milos Janu, one of the sponsors of the event.
“New emerging economies of the European Union got richer and came to taste luxury. It is only natural that Arabian horse show came to the Czech Republic. Czech businessmen entered a fashion of first class cars, deluxe yachts and best horses,” says Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek, one of the VIP guests of the show.
There are about one million Arabian horses in the world. Most of them are in the United States, where 400 Arabian horse shows are held annually. These horses have a unique ability to bond with their owners. They are gentle to women and children. Notable Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Napoleon and George Washington rode Arabians. Recently, President Putin received a gift of beautiful Arabian horses from Jordanian King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein.
Prague Intercup will judge horses based on the criteria of ECAHO. For more information, please visit www.achpak.cz/pragueintercup
The event will be broadcast by Czech TV.
