Discount Horse Show Clothing

Top Shopping Tips

Finding discount horse show clothing can save you hundreds of dollars if you know what to look for.

Though it is a more affordable option for this horse showing expense, there are some things you must be aware of before ringing up a sale.

Below we will be taking a look at our top five tips to shopping for discounted clothing. Even though the prices may be a little better than buying brand new clothes, you may still end up paying more than you could have if had taken the time to work through the following tips.

Whether you use them to shop online or offline, they will come in handy to help you find the discount horse show clothing that works best for you.

#1. Give A Close Inspection to Clothes You Consider

If you are shopping in person at a sale you have the benefit of being able to physically pick up and handle the clothing. This is made a little more tricky if you are shopping online. If you are shopping on your computer, you can still perform a close inspection when your piece of clothing arrives.

If you find something that catches your eye on the rack make sure you take the time to closely inspect it. Below we have a list of things you may want to look for when checking over a piece of clothing.

  • Check over all the seams for signs of wear
  • Check for any signs of dirt or other stains that may have to be removed
  • Make sure certain areas aren't stretched out (the seat part of a pair of pants)
  • Make sure all buttons, zippers, snaps, and clasps are sewn on securely and work properly

Taking the time to cloesly look at a piece of discount horse show clothing can be very helpful to determine if it will work for you. It can also help you to determine if the askig price is fair.

#2. Try It On Before You Bring It Home

If the clothing passes final inspection you can head over to a changing room to try it on. Even if you are at a tack sale, check with the vendor to see if you can try it on. You absolutely want to make sure it fits you correctly before you spend any money.

Again, this can be difficult when shopping on the internet and you will have to wait until the piece arrives.

When trying on a piece of clothing, make sure it fits well in all the important places. If you are trying on a shirt you want to make sure the sleeves are long enough, and it is not too tight in the under arm area.

If you are trying on pants you want to make sure the inseam fits right and that the pant legs are the right length for you. Again double check to make sure all buttons, zippers, and snaps work effectively and securely.

#3. Make Sure The Price Is Right

Now you have to determine if the price is fair for the clothing. Since you took some time to look over the clothing to make sure nothing is wrong with it, and took the time to try it on, you can use this information to your benefit.

Let's say you found a great outfit in your budget. Now let's say you found a minor problem with it such as a zipper that doesn't work right or some dirt that needs to be cleaned off before you wear it.

You can use this information to barter the price in some shopping locations such as an area tack sale.

#4. Consider Future Clothing Care

Ok so the outfit looks great, fits great, and you are happy with the price. Your next thought should be about the care the outfit needs to keep it in great condition.

Each item of discount horse show clothing will vary on its care and cleaning instructions. Some may be very difficult to clean if you have lots of little and expensive crystals.

Your dicount horse show clothing may need to be dry cleaned after every show, especially if the fabric is a lighter color. Just make a note to yourself of on how you will need to care for your clothing to keep it in top shape because it may be an added expense that you hadn't realized until after you've worn it in a show.

#5. Check The Return Policy

This is an important tip to consider before you purchase anywhere. You want to have a sense of the return policy offered with discount horse show clothing. This is especially important when shopping online since you don't have the benefit of trying on the clothing before you buy it.

If you are buying discount horse show clothing you may find the return policy is different since the price has been discounted. Some businesses will offer you the ability to return your item and some won't. The decsion to proceed with the sale is your choice, just be informed about your options after the purchase of your discounted horse show clothing.
